Project Overview

SohojMart is an end-to-end multi-vendor marketplace designed to connect customers with independent vendors through a seamless, scalable shopping experience. It incorporates robust role-based dashboards (Super Admin, Vendor, and Customer), real-time inventory tracking, and secure cloud storage.

Key Features

  • Multi-Tenant Architecture: Granular Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) separating Super Admin, Vendor, and Customer workflows.
  • Vendor & Admin Dashboards: Comprehensive analytics, multi-criteria product pagination & filtering, bulk order management, and catalog controls.
  • Product & Variant Engine: Flexible product listing supporting multiple variants (sizes, dynamic color naming, stock thresholds, and SKU generation).
  • Printable Invoices & Receipts: Automated generation of professional, print-ready order invoices for streamlined warehouse fulfillment.
  • Cloud Media Pipeline: Direct, secure media uploads and management powered by AWS S3.
  • Real-Time Communication: Integrated Socket.IO for live order status notifications and real-time alerts.
  • Robust Authentication: Secure JWT-based session handling, Google OAuth integration, and bcrypt password hashing.

Challenges & Learning

Developing SohojMart challenged me to solve complex real-world engineering problems across the entire stack. From modeling intricate product variant schemas with PostgreSQL and Prisma ORM to enforcing multi-tenant Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) across Super Admin, Vendor, and Customer portals, every feature required careful architectural planning. Key challenges included maintaining seamless state synchronization across debounced search filters and server-side pagination in Next.js, as well as handling real-time WebSocket connections with Socket.IO for live support chat and inventory alerts without memory leaks. Through this project, I strengthened my expertise in end-to-end TypeScript, AWS S3 cloud asset management, Redux Toolkit state flow, and building high-performance, production-ready web applications.
